Zend - IBM partnership continues

Zend and IBM continue to partner to deliver a Web application solution that combines the production quality PHP solution of Zend Core with support for IBM’s powerful DB2 family. The combined solution provides a certified production environment based on best practices in configuring and tuning PHP leveraging the knowledge and experience of Zend and IBM. This partnership has now migrated from Zend Core for IBM to Zend Core v2.5, Zend’s standard release. As a result, Zend has decided to end of life the previous Zend Core for IBM packages. Zend Core V2.5 is a superior product that provides a more robust and secure PHP environment for the DB2 family.

Zend Core for IBM V2.0 is End of Life (EOL) Date: Dec 1, 2008

Effective Dec. 1, 2008 Zend Core for IBM V2.0 will no longer be available for purchase. Zend will continue to provide support to existing customers under current support contracts. No additional product updates will be provided except for emergency bug fixes as required by our support contracts.

Migration to Zend Core V2.5 for Linux x86 and Windows

Zend is strongly encouraging Zend Core for IBM v2.0 customers to move to Zend Core V2.5. This is a free upgrade for all customers. All Zend Core for IBM customers on Windows and Linux x86, will continue to enjoy all their current functionality when they migrate to Zend Core V2.5 with the exception of Informix database connectivity. Zend expects to release in a Zend Core V2.5 update within the next few months. Customers needing Informix support should wait to migrate until this update has been released.

Support for Linux on Power and AIX is discontinued

Zend Core for IBM is effectively end of life on Linux-Power or AIX . Zend can help customers transition to an alternate supported operating system via consulting services. For questions or additional information please contact Zend Marketing.

End of Support (EOS) date: May 31, 2009

Zend will continue to support existing Zend Core for IBM customers that are under current support contracts until those contracts expire. For those customers whose support contracts end before May 31, 2009, Zend will continue to support them at no cost. Support will only be provided for existing installations and current environment configurations. Zend will not support any future OS patches or other environment changes
